Bulging with annotated contacts and held together with packing tape, Frank Sinatra’s oxblood leather social bible reads like a who’s who of the jet set’s gilded age. A fortune cookie message affixed to the front cover reads, “Beware of friends, who are false and deceitful.” The book, which the Chairman used and abused from the 1970s through the 1990s, recently sold at Julien’s Auctions in New York City for the bargain price of $8,960.
