Trending: Double Breasted Blazers

Mar 18, 2014

Maybe it’s because the consumer’s eye recently turned to Gatsby or maybe it’s because of the prominence of shows like Mad Men. Whatever it is, for the Spring 2014 seasons Milanese designers have conjured up a variety of double breasted blazers.

From Prada, with Miuccia’s ever present Midas touch guiding it all, the blazers came with peaked lapels, sharp shoulders and six buttons over silky printed shirts.  Brioni offered up their own classic sober version done in a palette of sleek greys for a consummate professional look.

For his fourth collection at Z Zegna, Paul Surridge offered up only one double breasted option: a beautiful languid blazer with a faultless shawl collar all done in blue. Canali rounded out the offerings with a slew of  blazers befitting various customers from the Wall Street bankers to bohemian artists.
