The Omega Speedmaster is an automatic chronograph. Its three sub dials measure hours, minutes and seconds. This is a versatile timepiece. You can wear it with a suit or with casual attire the dial is clean and elegant. Watch aficionados refer to this watch as the "post moon" speedmaster. The "moon" watch was a manually wound Omega Speedmaster Professional, which was worn by astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin during Apollo 11. This Omega Speedmaster was released in 1988 after NASA decided to reinstate its space program following the 1986 disaster of the Challenger. The automatic Speedmaster would not work in space because the lack of gravity would not allow the self-winding mechanism to power the watch.
